Sly Fan Art

It's been a while since we heard from SZoner, Adam Shippee, but he's back with his latest piece of Sly art. Adam can be reached at ashippee1@cox.net - Craig

The ad above appears in the August 2008 issue of Previews which goes out to comic and specialty shops throughout the USA.
SZoner, Gerardo Jemio sent us a photo of his latest Stallone drawing which he calls "Rocky Pensive." It was created with black and white crayons on craft paper. Beautiful work!
SZoner, PJK sent in photos of the custom made Cobra statue that he created. It never ceases to surprise me, the amount of talented Stallone fans that we have at the StalloneZone!
PJK even created a custom made Cobra base for the statue.
His attention to detail is evident in this close up. PJK is a regular on the StalloneZone message boards. Be sure to let him know how cool this piece is... who knows, maybe we'll see more in the future! - Craig
In March of this year I posted about a Brasilian sculptor and a Stallone fan named Edinho. Edinho had sent in photos of a Rambo sculpture that he did that was simply amazing. You can see for yourself by clicking HERE. Labels: 2008, Fan Art, John Rambo
Hey Craig,
SZoner, Ernest Resendes is back with a new piece. He even hints that he may be working up a "Death Wish" piece. Let's hope! Thanks to Jazzman for sharing! - Craig
SZoner, Ernest Resendes has been spending so much time working on independent movies [doing everything from creating sets, to writing, acting, and music] that he hasn't had as much time to draw. Jazz did find the time to add some color to a piece he did a few years ago and we love the results. Thanks to Jazzman for sharing! - Craig
Hello,
Just checked out your site (StalloneZone). Very well laid out and interesting to read through. Added to my favourites. Well done on all the work you've put into it, best fan site I've come across.
I've been a big fan of Stallone and his films ever since I was a kid and thought that the new Rambo movie was probably his best bar Rocky 1.
I also noticed you have fan work on your site and thought you might like a look at some of the work I've done previously on Stallone.
There is more of my work on my site www.jonmckenzieart.co.uk
I look forward to hearing from you and would really appreciate some feedback on the work.
Thank you.

Jon has quite a bit of art on display at his site [including a Rambo piece.] Thanks to Jon for the kind words and for sharing his talents with us! - Craig
Hey Craig!

Edinho is an amazing Brasilian sculptor and a Stallone fan. You can see by looking at these shots of his Rambo sculpture just how talented he is. Look HERE and you can see much more of Edinho's work. Plan to spend some time when you click over because he's THAT talented! Thanks to Edinho for sharing! - Craig

Hi Craig,
Hi, Craig! I'm a new StalloneZoner from Brazil and I'm a comic book artist. I'm sending you a Rambo pin-up I made and would be very pleased if you post it in Stallonezone. Thank you, and we're waiting your Rambo review!
SZoner, Bill Pruitt checked in with... Hi Craig, Here's my latest creation combining graphics in photoshop and a teaser of my latest oil painting which will be revealed soon. I wanted to convey in this ad that Rambo means business and that he will NOT be messed with.Labels: 2007, Fan Art, John Rambo
Bill Pruitt sent in the photo of his latest Stallone painting above and this message:

SZoner, Bill Pruitt checked in with the photo above and some words about it:
SZoner, Paul Winter recently added another great piece to his Stallone collection. His buddy, the extremely talented Randy Martinez created this cool painting of Punchy [with Paul in his corner] stepping into the ring to go a few rounds with Butkus [cornered by Rocky].
SZoner, Gerardo Jemio from Chile, wrote in to say: "Your page is wonderful! I drew this Balboa all time fighter concept a couple of weeks ago, it is a natural size poster done with pencils, golden paint and inspiration, I hope you like it!"
Paul Wintner turned me on to the art of Randy Martinez, a Lucas film illustrator. Randymartinez.net is his site and you can see much more of his very cool art. Hopefully we'll see more here as well! - Craig
Evan Bryce is an illustrator and colorist. I discovered his work through his sketchbook blog.
Michael Nigro is a full time illustrator who is available for freelance commissions! His e-mail is bossk1138@yahoo.com. Michael works in pencil, watercolors, ink and digital paintings and would love to to hear any feedback on this painting. Michael says he has more Sly Art that he'll share soon. Thanks to Michael for sharing! - Craig
Derek Nixon is based in the UK and was inspired to paint this after he and his girlfriend Jen ran up the Rocky steps in Philly to celebrate his 30th birthday! Any comments are welcome. Derek's email is mail@dmncreative.com (the website itself is a work in progress at the moment). The Rocky sculpture he's working on is nearing completion so hopefully he'll be able to send pics of it in the next few weeks. Thanks to Derek for sharing his talents! - Craig

SZoner, Bill Pruitt checked in with the cool photo above and this... Hi Craig, Today I got to meet the stunt coordinator for "Rambo First Blood II," Diamond Farnsworth. Ironically, I was working on a new "John Rambo" piece at Universal Citywalk when he happened to be up there. He couldn't have been nicer and was very impressed that I knew who he was. (I've only seen him in Rambo II photos when Sly is doing bow and arrow target practice.) He said he taught Sly how to shoot the bow and arrow. Bill
